I spent the next few months I wish someone would look at me the way my golden retriever looks at pizza shirt mainly just watching King of the Hill and nodding on the couch, often with a space heater warming the area on my foot on which I wore my patches. Some mornings I would wake up from a chemically-induced slumber, realize I still had my foot in front of the heater or still had a piece of the patch in my mouth. Another morning I woke and immediately puked up the handful of tootsies rolls (all I had eaten) from the day before. Man, how did I not overdose?
