I think the issue Humanity is my race love is my religious peace is my weapon shirt with the review on promised neverland is that it isn't a horror. It's a psychological drama with horror elements. That and the art style is/was rather difficult to animate. It's rather unique. Bang on. Psych-drama, mind games anime. Nothing about it screams horror, outside of some undertones in the story.

Don't get this either Humanity is my race love is my religious peace is my weapon shirt. The show establishes its ground rules within the first few episodes and manages to stick to them strictly (and continues to do so in the manga, which I've read much further into) - which is pretty fucking impressive in a medium where shit-tastic writing is abundant. Then it adds new twists to the story that builds the tension. the anime actually goes full-on action adventure shounen after the first arc though, so that might turn a lot of people away

Oof, does what happened Humanity is my race love is my religious peace is my weapon shirt in episodes 2 and 3 counts as twists? I'm still keeping up with it, but so little has happened in the past 45 minutes of the show that I can't say I'm looking forward to it. I can't get past the art style like our reviewer up here, either. Everyone looks ugly all the time, straight up. Honestly, the manga's build upon the twists was much more satisfying than how the anime did it, but the source material was on such another level that I think it's hard to capture it well.
