The Peter Weir series includes an insane 1990 movie where Straight outta shape but bitch I'm tryin version shirt marries Andie McDowell for the titular Green Card. I can't stress how important that is. If Friedkin didn’t work between 1985 and 2006 he could have a chance. Instead he made 6 movies that only seem to exist as daytime HBO fodder that kills my interest in a series dead. My favorite 90s Friedkin movie that doesn't exist is still the 12 Angry Men remake that stars like Jack Lemmon, Tony Danza, Gandolfini and whoever else.

It's pretty much shot for shot but the big 90s twist is Straight outta shape but bitch I'm tryin version shirt  THE RACIST GUY IS BLACK NOW HOW ABOUT THAT. I have one friend who claims it among their top 10 ever and another who regularly cited it as the worst movie she has ever seen. I really need to give it a watch, whether that be a good or terrible experience.  If you enjoy Michael Shannon being crazy, definitely check it out. It's very much a 2-person play "here's two people in a shitty motel room trying to out-crazy each other" thing and it has the most Michael Shannon performance of his career.

Shannon just did a scene from Red with Straight outta shape but bitch I'm tryin version shirt at Gracie Water (where Shannon knows the scene and Glazer doesn’t, so he improvises) at UCB and it was delightful. Shannon broke on stage! Great writeup! I’m obviously ride-or-die for Nora, but the more I think about it, the more convinced I become that Demme could hit that same sweet spot that Ang Lee had, who for my money was the best series yet. Demme had mainstream success with one of the best BP winners ever, made a bunch of very idiosyncratic films like Melvin & Howard and Rachel Getting Married
