This was one of the things that annoyed me the most about the Night King #teamnightking Game over Game of Thrones shirt picture. I can tell you exactly why Night King #teamnightking Game over Game of Thrones shirt was so dark: Money. A lot easier to make something so far away just completely dark instead of spending VFX money on something that's trivial when elsewhere you have thousands of CG people/creatures on screen, 3 dragons, sweeping overheads of massive amounts of landscape, flaming everything...a literal normal episodes length of JUST a gigantic battle sequence. That, and I'm sure the suspense factor.
