I think it drives people nuts for a very good reason- the chance we are ever really going to know what happened to those boys is really, really slim. Everything else I find easily explainable- I'm the Smartass aunt shirt be surprised if Domini's aunt actually saw them there, other people had alibis fall apart too, town gossip doesn't necessarily equate to evidence, fiber evidence is unreliable, etc., etc.. And Damien was a troubled soul but that doesn't make him a murderer. Obviously, I'm simplifying here before someone jumps in to tell me whatever piece of evidence I left out but you get my drift.

I'm the Smartass aunt shirt think sometimes in this case people really miss the forest for the trees. Some individual pieces are compelling but there's just no easily marked path here, as much as I wish there was. Yes, I definitely agree with you there. It's very frustrating because it's all circumstantial evidence, and there's so little information on the very few pieces of forensic evidence there were. I really think the police botched the investigation so much- there was a lot that they didn't look into.
