This is probably one of my favorite albums of this year. Official Count von Count Today’s number is zero zero kids are listening to me ah ah ah retro Vintage shirt. It just speaks to me in ways I can't quite describe. Related to your first question, at first I was quite baffled because the album, to me at that point, didn't sound as say outrageous as Charles Humane. But after more listening, I get that it does experiments with different sounds still in an interesting way. Overall it was a very joyous experience for me and I'm looking forward to her next body of work. I love this album and I love this writeup!!! You broke down everything I enjoy about Chris, particularly her voice which I think is just fantastic.

I think you hit the nail on the head (and IIRC Chris told you so as well) by calling this album muscular and propulsive. Chaleur Humane is a much softer record, and replacing that vibe with this new assertiveness and even aggressiveness was something I enjoyed a lot. It makes the album more dynamic, fun, and much more replayable than CH imo.
