Unfortunately, I don't think we got to see if he truly changed, that's why it's unfortunate that he got killed so young. I personally believe he did a lot of good and bad in the world, and just like most people he isn't necessarily good or bad he is just Official Came From Nuttin funny shirt. X was a person with a lot of problems who did bad shit, that's why people relate to him so much.
